Trstené is a quiet village five minutes from Liptovský Mikuláš. The Western Tatras begin just behind the village, the Low Tatras are a few kilometres away, and in winter you can put on your cross-country skis almost at the apartment door.
Thanks to the convenient location, you can pack a lot into your holiday and plan days that everyone enjoys, children and adults alike.
Summer
A proper mountain hike is the best choice. You will find trails of every difficulty in the nearby Western and Low Tatras. Many guests bring their own mountain bikes, as the countryside is perfect for cycling, and there are plenty of opportunities for water sports nearby. From May to October you can visit Havránok, one of the most important archaeological sites in Slovakia, with a popular open-air museum on the site of an ancient Celtic settlement. The Demänovská caves and Liptovská Mara lake also make for a lovely day out. Back at the apartment, you can sit by the fire pit or cook something on the barbecue.
Winter
In winter you can enjoy every kind of winter sport. If you love cross-country skiing, you can set off almost straight from the apartment door. Several ski resorts are close by, for example Jasná (19 km), Žiar-Dolinky (18 km), Pavčina Lehota-Žiarce (16 km) and Opalisko (10 km).
All year round
At any time of year you can explore Liptovský Mikuláš and its sights. The town has several museums and galleries worth visiting, such as the Slovak Museum of Nature Protection and Speleology, the House of Photography and the P. M. Bohúň Gallery. The most popular attraction in the area is Tatralandia aquapark, with indoor and outdoor pools that children especially love.
